Michael has a bold vision for Adventure to Fitness: to become the leading health and fitness brand for children. Upon joining the company in 2010 Michael generated plans to launch Adventure to Fitness in schools and helped the program achieve rapid growth, reaching schools in all 50 states by its second year. Michael brings a tireless work ethic and is not afraid of challenges. His career experience – which crosses the technology, financial, and media sectors – provides knowledge and a list of contacts that makes overcoming these challenges possible.
Prior to Adventure to Fitness, Michael ran Rhattigan Broadcasting, a broadcasting business that he founded in 2004.
Despite tough economic conditions, Michael was able to consistently deliver double-digit growth. Michael began his career at the worldwide headquarters of Andersen Consulting in Chicago. He eventually moved to France with Andersen, where he helped establish and build a technology practice that covered Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. Throughout the 1990’s, the group grew from a handful to several hundred employees. Michael worked with companies that ranged from startups to Fortune 50 corporations to implement leading-edge technologies and business strategies. He later worked as a research analyst for JPMorgan Chase, where he focused on the media and telecom sector.
Michael has an undergraduate degree in information systems from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in financefrom MIT’s Sloan School of Management. His versatile educational and career backgrounds make him an ideal leader for Adventure to Fitness as it approaches its ambitious goals.
Michael is committed to health and fitness on a personal level, too. While Michael reluctantly admits that it’s normally his wife who drags him to the gym each morning at 5:30am, the Adventure to Fitness team frequently sees Michael biking to and from work. He’s also a world traveler like Mr. Marc, having lived on four separate continents, including stays in Argentina, Canada, England, France, South Africa, and the United States. Michael can occasionally be overheard comparing adventure stories with Mr. Marc: such as running with the bulls in Pamplona, or swimming with Piranhas in the Amazon. He claims the latter was an accident but the Adventure to Fitness team isn’t completely convinced.
